Aims
The primary aim of Sadarang
Archives is to promote Pakistani classical music and practitioners of this art
form.
The organisation hopes to make steady
progress and act as a focal point for artistes, scholars and listeners
alike so that a greater understanding of classical music can be achieved.
Despite being the age of modern technology and mass media by which
the world has become a smaller place, many talented musicians of
Pakistan have been denied the opportunity to achieve fame and
recognition. Sadarang Archives hopes to raise
awareness of these musicians so that they could be encouraged to carry
on the art and develop further into great musicians of the future.
It is
hoped that this web site can be the start of a new beginning in the chapter of
classical music in Pakistan by which the classical melodic culture can be
safeguarded for future generations. For further information on Sadarang
Archives or any artistes featured on this website, please contact. info@sadarang.com
